Will a armature from a K2F mag fit a M01L? Don't care if it work but will physically fit. I have saw several K2F for sale and I would like to have one to convert my mag to battery ignition should it ever fail. Wouldn't want to my present armature.
HiLD,Im no expert on magnetos, but I'm pretty sure the K2F is for the twin cylinder bikes. There is a unit suitable for the Lucas M01 mag that will make the conversion you are thinking of doing.Personally i would get the M01 sorted and use that.
You are probably trying to get a sixty or seventy year old piece of kit to work,it's not going to happen. Here is a unit, Ebay 151353125557,
priced at £155.00 this is what you are asking for.For a bit more you can have the real deal, with a garuantee, and perhaps another sixty years trouble free sparks.
Sorry ,had a few beers ,cant spell garantee, tried a few times ,had enough.
cheers Rick
ps,there will be plenty of recomendations from members, this is to be expected.

Manufacture self generating magnetos, electronic, of 100% new parts.
No points, and a choice of auto advance or fixed spark timing model.
No battery needed. I saw an impressing demo at Stafford,
Of generating sharp, blue and crisp sparks. It was impressive..
Other benefit to this mag is an ignition cut-out wire
And a locking mechanism to use upon install, so you do not have
To install it 6 times in order to be close to the correct BTDC point..
