Hi guys, I hope this isn't a duplicate message as the last one I sent seemed to vanish.
Please could someone help me get some history/info re my M20 named 'Walter', I hope the following details will assist.
1st registered 09 06 1967
Registration no. LRP 20E
Bought in 1966 from MOD sale by Gordon W Rhodes
Frame no. WM 2581381
Engine no. M 104161
I believe the C no. is C13920
I would like to know where 'Walter' was stationed in Britain and did he go abroad also is it possible to get a relevant plate for his manufactured year of 1943, thanks so much for helping this old warhorse.

The frame number of your BSA seems strange, the hightest numbers used are around WM20 122345. Are you sure about your frame number? If the number you menioned is really in the frame then it's not a number as BSA used them and any history will be near impossible to find.
I did manage to find some information about your BSA. Your BSA has seen a total rebuild during the war, when this was done it received C1447008 as tank number. The original tank number from when it left the factory was C4865364.
Your BSA left the factory in 1942.

I had a similar issue with one of my vehicles. One digit incorrect on my log book. Make sure that you get as much information together before you notify DVLA . it may be best to get a dating certificate from BSA owners club showing the correct number including photo,s of it or speak to the club official to get his opinion first. Best to get everything sorted in one go like age related plate/ historic class/ date of manufacture if any of these need amending .

having spent 6 months and counting trying to correct one digit out on the logbook for a chassis number and having in the past spent a very long time doing basic changes with dvla, get dating certificate from approved dvla recognised officer first! the dvla will not admit they are wrong about anything ever, so get all paper work first.
worth getting full vehicle history from dvla records before trying to change anything just so you have the vehicle history and also can see if it was a transcription error at some point which you can point to in the records.
