i know that someone ( was it Preston ? ) was recording the run as we approached the roundabout...is there any chance of having a copy of that recording ?

Preston was indeed filming as he was our official witness at the finish. Hopefully that video is on its way to me. I am still waiting for all the evidence to arrive before I can make any claim with GWR. No doubt copies can be made available at some point.

As a late starter with WM20s I missed the anniversary & am interested in learning what the Guinness book of records is being claimed for ?

Is it the number of WD motorcycles which took part or something else ?

We set a record in 2009 for the "largest parade of Allied forces motorcycles" (2 miles)
The figure that year was 144. Without confirming anything until I have scrutinised the evidence. I am expecting somewhere over 190 for this year.

Here is the list of makes/models at the start of the run. Prepared for us by John O'Brien and I post it here for interest sake. There were also extra bikes at the start who seemed to have missed the booking on procedure. Someone counted 230 bikes. However, as I have already stated, some of the riders decided to stop during the 2 mile run and will have to be eliminated from the record claim.

I counted also 45 M20's leading off the Bayeux parade too!

I doubt if Guinness provide a certificate, the achievement will be in there next book
I also can't see Ron designing and having printed 190 certificates and then trying to work out which of the 230 bikes at the starting position actually finished the course.
There are quite a few photos of the bikes gathered at the start etc, you could frame one with "Guinness world record" etc written on it as a reminder.

One certificate was issued last time and it was posted on this forum (complete with spelling mistake). Duplicate certificates were available for anyone who wanted to pay for one. £15 each if I remember correctly. Ron
