I have had a look on Roberts homepage, there doesn't seem to be any information on there about the bike contract plates.
I know that the plates will be spot on Robert does a 1st rate job Got some Jeep plates from him. Highly recomended

It sounds like he might be gearing up to make them. This is the email from Doc.

I contacted Robert at DataPlates4U to get a couple of contract plates made. He sent me this design. His process is based on etching, not stamping from behind. I believe these are better than what is being offered on Ebay.

Let me know if you think there might be some interest. I wanted to put the .jpeg file on the WD forum, but am not able at the moment. If you think there would be interest, Ron could you post it for me? Thanks. He indicated that it would be cheaper by the piece to set-up and run several at one time. No matter I have decided to go ahead and get a couple for the BSA WD M20 and the James ML. He can stamp them as well, but indicated the font is different from the Willys MB plate fonts he has.

Just seen these on Ebay, not that I would by them. Just wondering about the descripton Never seen this type of plate on a Jeep

He's got his knickers in a twist there. Contract S1946 Catalogue Ref. 3 was a Welbike contract !

Most US-supplied vehicles seem to have had SM contract prefixes but I have no idea if they were retro-fitted with British contract plates on arrival.

Yes, in this case Roberts are no good anyway, if they have to look like steel plates, as they are much different!! (Heard from Doc here that it's technically impossible to make them 100% right)

US vehicles supplied under Brit contracts had sometimes an S/M 00000 brass plate, like on my Ford GP jeep. (SM2324)

The ebay auction comes from New Delhi, so what do you expect!!! trying to cash in on people that don't know what they are buying, if they would just do a little more their best, they have the skills, but think the buyers are more stupid then themselves
