The spark plug thread in the cylinder head has always been a little bit worn so I thought it best to give this some thought now rather than at a French roadside somewhere. I guess repair or replace are my options and I wondered if:

A. Reasonable heads are available for sensible money, or
B. Whether a new thread insert works well on M20 heads?

Hi, either type of insert works well, out of the wire type Helicoils or the Wurth type which is a double threaded insert, the Wurth type insert is the slightly better one, but either one will do the job well.
Unfortunately the cylinder heads are getting hard to get in good condition
