Matchless Frame Dimension

I have an early 1941 G3L currently in the frows of restoration, when i put the rear wheel in I have to spring open the frame by quite a distance to get it to go in. Spacers and spindle are new and confirmed correct to original issue, the frame has been bent and I'm measuring a distance of 184mm inside of the axle/spindle plates (they are the early sandwiched plates not the later cast lugs) before i put the wheel in, gearbox/rear wheel sprockets are pretty close to correct alignment but the brake anchor on the brake plate fouls the cast lug that holds the special anchor bolt. Does anyone have an early version like mine they can measure between plates so i can fathom where the problem is?

Re: Matchless Frame Dimension

Thankyou Ken, i have been using this diagram to check and see where the frame is out the distance between the axle plates does correspond to this drawing 184mm, but this drawing is from the 1952 army service manual so with the change in frame design would this dimension still hold true for a 1941 what with the change to cast rear lugs from the early sandwiched plates?
