It's bolted under the saddle on the mudguard. You should find two holes there matching the holes in the voltage regulator. You should use rather long bolts and rubber washers to prevent the regulator from vibrating to much.
I think it's a strange arrangement because you are fitting a regulator with flat feet to a curved surface. Also it's better to fit the longish 1/4" bolts from the underside with nuts to tighten them to the mudguard. then the rubber buffers and them tap them inwards to line up with the regulator holes before fitting the regulator with two nuts. Otherwise you will have to remove the rear wheel to take the regulator off for any reason. Ron
I made up the mounts from a piece of Hexagonal bar...I turned down one end, threaded it and that went through the mudguard with a washer and nut (which I applied Locktite to)...
The other end I turned down and threaded with sufficient length to take...a plain washer, a 5/16" thick rubber washer, the regulator, another plain washer and a nut and locknut...That way the amount of 'compression' of the rubber washers could be adjusted to the desired degree...The rubber washers allow for the fact the mountings are not at right angles to the 'feet' of the regulator as well as insulating it from direct vibration....
Finally I slotted the mounting holes in the regulator with a round file to ease fitting and removal, as the mounting studs lie at an angle after fitting to the mudguard...
I kept the hex. part of the mounting and the threaded upper part to a minimum as the longer they are the greater the distance between them due to the angle...To help that I used one full nut with a 'half nut' as a locknut..Ian
On 13 January 2014 I asked for the position of the regulator. Now the new Forum picture gives an answer. F A D and E Terminals at front side. Question for Henk, is this a dated picture or a new on? Is this position what it has to be?
