Looks to be UK around 1940....possibly Aldershot/Hampshire area as the training grounds around there look remarkably like this.........

Standing Sergeant looks to be Royal Artillery........still wearing the pre-war service dress with "grenade" collar dogs, gun cap badge and small cannons above the rank stripes..........

I thought they were part of a suitably equipped taskforce dispatched to find the answer to the age-old question "do bears sh*t in the woods"

Know this picture, and Rik will know more, but it's pre 1940, probably 1939, still civvy numberplate, and taxdisk holder (still hunting for one of those!!)
