Powdercoating wheels

I'm planning to have the hubs and rims powdercoated seperately before re-assembly with new spokes. My question is :- Is the latter a good idea or should I have wheels built first then coated?
My main thinking is that if the spokes and nipples are coated, there would be difficulty in adjusting afterwards or am I just asking a daft question!!??
Your sage advice would be most welcome.. Ian

Re: Powdercoating wheels

I did everything separate, also the spokes and nipples
But the error I made was to have hubs and spokes double-coated (rims are not a problem). I had to ream the holes in the hubs to get the spokes in...
Adjusting spoke tension afterwards is no problem if you smear some Vaseline in the rim holes under the nipples.
By the way: if you are interested how I did the spokes, send me a PM.
