Re: enfield WD/C

Hi Barry, the model C is not a bad bike if you don't mind something much slower than an M20, if it was me I,d go for the CO model.

Re: enfield WD/C

so one would be much slower than my G3L then
it depends on what i can get really and plus with the low budget ive got.

Re: enfield WD/C

the g3 is like a rocket ship compared to the 350 side valve model c.

an old m20 would be a better bet, good spares, reliable, can keep up 50mph all day long.

Re: enfield WD/C

I used to use a WD/C as daily transport for a 10-mile round trip to work........although not at all quick (about 40-50 mph) it proved durable and reliable............

Note that there are several differences between early and later WD examples in respect of fixtures and fittings, including forks, toolboxes, rear carriers, controls, etc............many ex-WD C's were rebuilt early post-war using all manner of mixed-up parts from all years and in several cases with the engines and occasionally the frames re-numbered..........
