Just started my gear box...(it came in a box)going over the parts i notice the Control shaft pin and rollers i bought on flea bay where different from the originals that came in the box.bigger pins wider grooves'
Do i have the M20...66-3082 complete control shaft,or the B29..65-3155???
Can these two assembles be swapped out.
Hi Frank...There are two types of selector forks for the M20 boxes from 1938 onwards, depending from which year they come...
One type has smaller pins and narrower cam tracks than the other..The shafts themselves are the same..
The assemblies are interchangeable so you can use either type, both in a WD gearbox or the post war 'civilian' type gearbox...
The B Series gearbox used in the B29 and others and in a modified form in the post war B31 for 1946/7 is of a lighter and smaller construction altogether. If you have the selector assembly from one of those the forks won't fit into the M20 gear selector dogs as they are too small....Ian
