Contract Plate Numbers - Norton 16H

I am considering getting a repro contract plate for 16H.

With a frame number W91103 it comes from contract S5161.

I know it should be a steel plate, but copper is all I can get (it seems), so I'll have to make do with that ... for the time being.

However, I am rather unclear as to what number would be stamped in the right hand "CATALOGUE REF. NO." box.

The numbers I have seen on the web for 16Hs just don't seem to tally up.

TIA

It should be steel and probably cadmium plated.

Re: Contract Plate Numbers - Norton 16H

Hi Guys,
I have got a tin basher having a go at making these, they may have to be stamped in brass though as we can't get enough definition with tin.
I will let you know when I have a good copy.
Cheers, Mick.

Mick
Brass is OK.
Any ideas on time scales?

Brass could still be cad plated so you would never know the difference.

Copper can also be cad plated. The rivet counters would never discover your secret

We Always carry a magnet!!!

Anyway, as said before I can have these made in steel, but is expensive, there were no reactions on that post, so I never enquired about the cost, will do so this time, as I need some Big 4 sidecar number tags, if someone can finally come up with the size?? (John ???)

Re: Contract Plate Numbers - Norton 16H

Hi Guys,
I have had another chat with my tin basher and he has decided to make another press tool, hopefully with better definition. We will the try some different materials( brass, copper etc)to see what comes out best.
I will let you know how we get on.
Cheers, Mick.
