I was wondering if anyone could help me identify the thread on the cotter pin for the kickstart on an M20. Have spares of the pin, but no nut!

The correct one will be 1/4" BSF (26tpi BSCycle is the same) Ron

I hate to be so 'picky' but for the sake of accuracy, the thread was 1/4 BSCY (Cycle Thread).
Although it shares the same pitch as BSF at 26tpi (for this diameter) it is not the same thread...
Cycle Thread has a 60 degree thread angle whilst BSF has a 55 degree thread angle, so mixing them will alter the designed fit between the nut and bolt/screw etc.....
It is also worth noting that many pattern cotter pins have a different thread..I haven't checked one of these but I suspect they are 6mm diameter x 1mm pitch..Ian
