These flat slide carbs (not injectors of any sort) by POSA were originally used for light aircraft applications..I think they are of American manufacture..A modified version was produced for motorcycle use.
Primarily, they are intended for racing applications and as such work best when going flat out. I believe they are tuned by changing the needles..not sure on that though...

I think I'll stick with AMAL for now... ...Ian

It's the same as a Gardner Carb, as used on Manx and G50 racers. The Gardner company is in Sussex and the carbs are listed on Minnovation Racing's site for £420 for their G50 engines. You see a lot of them on bikes at classic race meets.
