Does anyone know if the reproduction Vokes air filters from India are any good? Also, does anyone make a reproduction data plate for the Vokes air filter?
I bought one of the replicas off e-bay, total crap. So disgusted with it , it will likely become a range target next time I take out my No 4 Mk 1 for shooting practice.
On the other hand there are some brass Vokes Data plates you may find on e-Bay which arer pretty good, come out of Spain I believe. And some early repro Vokes filters are good, but most now are a waste of money.
I would take and post pics but I fear the mere sight of it may break my camera.
I had the same experience with a battery carrier, which looked as though it had been made by a school kid in his first week of metalwork. I asked for a refund and was offered 30% off my next order if I 'repaired' it myself - needless to say I declined and, eventually, got a refund. I now have an orignal carrier and won't touch repro with an extended barge-pole in the future.
