I have just watched the BBC program the one show there was an article on it about an artist who carved body shapes in stencils in the sand representing the 9000 soldiers that died on D day very sad when you looked at it
I saw that as well Roger and very thought-provoking it was. 9000 lives lost is difficult to imagine but the stencils on the beach certainly made you aware.
Am I right in thinking that predicted casualties were more than 10 times that figure or am I thinking if something else?
The guys name is Jamie Wardley, I think he's from Bradford and is a sand sculptor. My daugther has worked on a project with him. His other partner was on Look North Leeds and was nearly in tears with emotion.
