Motorcycle use by BDS

Hi,

Did the Bomb Disposal Squads ever used mototrcycles during WW2?

Of so, is there any photographic evidence of this? Did they had special markings?

Kind Regards,

Sven

Re: Motorcycle use by BDS

Bomb disposal vehicles during WW2 in the UK at least were in the usual drab colours but were supposed to have red-painted mudguards (not just the tips from some photos I've seen)..........motorcycles may have had either red-tips or the whole 'guards painted red, although I would assume for practicality it would have probably been just the front one.......

Re: Motorcycle use by BDS

bomb disposal lorries/cars had both front and rear mudguards painted red so probably motorcycles followed suit
