I am thinking of getting my g3l project underway to have a spare bike for Normandy next year and want to obtain the correct tank number but have lent my O and M book to a mate so can anyone tell me what frame number A16424 translates to as contract number?

Nigel, this is a post war frame number. The WD frames do not have an A prefix and my understanding is that these were introduced in the late 40's early 50's. if you want to email me some photos of the frame I will see if I can help you with some further information. Cheers John
thanks for that John,it is the number off the old logbook for the bike but I need to get the number off the frame as I have a feeling it is different,the frame has sidecar lugs on it and I believe is actually a g3 frame with g3l forks and other parts etc ,it has been through the numberplate trade so could well be a mismatch of parts,all the paint I have found so far is matt Greeen and it has 1 original canvas grip as well as a wd speedo etc
