Re: Magdyno bearings

Hi Pete

Not off hand, but when you get them confirmed drop me a line as I often have them on the shelf.
E15 definitely, about a tenner inc postage.other I would need to check when I get back to work on Monday. Email me if you need it confirmed when you get the number.

Re: Magdyno bearings

The tyupe of bearing used to be called magneto bearing.
The 35 mm. outer diameter one used to be Lucas A15. (for 15 mm. inner diameter)
SKF used to stock these as E15.

However some magdynos used a larger outer diameter bearing of 37 mm. Much cheaper to replace that one by the 35 mm. version and a 1 mm thick spacer/ring.

Re: Magdyno bearings

Ta!

Got a bit of wobble on the armature so I'll have to strip the bloody thing and see wots wot, hopefully just the insulator.

Time to make one of those bearing pullers

I've got a drawer full of various MO1s and just one has a different sized earth brush holder screw. This one is 5/16 and 22TPI which is a smaller diameter than all the others. It Looks original and I can't see that anyone has modified the Body. Any ideas? Of course I managed to lose the damn brush holder and had to make one from an old bolt!
