Forgot what colour was used on Jerry cans to indicate oil. I remember gasoline was red, diesel yellow, water blue but oil?

I've got an original, unmolested can painted black with WATER stencilled across it?

Yep, turns out blue is for Kerosene. If I can ever spell that correctly!

I have got a british can dated 1938 and AM stamped. It has a green colour (no olive drab) with the words motor oil in white painted on it.

This is the reason I was trying to get an idea.

This cutout oil tank is rusty on the inside and I was going to paint it, with the correct colour, but just could not figure out which I should use

I think the cut edges will be red in a narrow border
