I've forgotten what thread the three rear hub bolts are? And who has the flat type and not tapered for sale? I can make them out of hex if i have too, but the thread looks BSF But a tap will only go in about 4 threads? Senility rules!
Hi Douglas, Have measured a few and they are 7/16 x 18 TPI so indeed looks like to be BSF.
Can't really make out from you post if your are looking for the bolts or the hub. Don't have the flat bolts but do have a nice flat type hub for sale. No bearings, only the outerraces fitted.

It could be worth countersinking them while its in bits as the tapered ones tend to stay in longer and don't wear the holes if they come loose, which they are likely to do unless you loctite them in

So the tapered ones were later? Well i certainly could countersink the hub to suit. This is for a friends bike by the way.Are the bolts easily available, I'm being lazy I could turn some up on a lathe but would prefer to just buy them these days.
They are available I think possibly from Russell's. they would be quite hard to make as the hexagon is smaller than the built in washer, however you could get the same effect by making the bolt and then parting off a countersunk piece and possibly make it an interference fit on the bolt then cut the thread on it afterwards. The countersunk ones were fitted because the holes used to wear on the flat back bolts
