I was a neighbor of the parents of 2LT Edward B. Zielke in the '60s and '70s. Lt. Zielke was in the USA 82AB Division, 507 PIR and was killed in action June 10, 1944 in Normandy. I have a large envelope of photos, documents, and letters regarding their son, whom they called "Billy." The letters indicate they did not know what happened to Billy as late as September 1945.

I need to get these items to the Zielke family, but I have no clue how to do it. The obvious methods like telephone directories or free internet searches haven't helped. I posted this on the US Militaria Forum and I thought I would put it here on Henk's site. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Tom, nice thought,I had a quick look,bear in mind i am no computer wizzard.
He has an ID number 0-436157 ,he originated from Cook County Illinois,
He is buried at Colleville-Sur-Mer cemetary Normandy,
Plot H Row 26 grave 27,its late now ,may have another look tomorrow.

That's right, Rick. Some of the letters originated from or were sent to Chicago, Illinois. Thanks for the quick look.

I do a lot of family tree research and have access to international records...if you can let me know parents names and any other info you have such as siblings i will have a look this eve and see if i can find any family descendants.
