Question for Ian

Hi Ian,

Still at it on my cutaway. When tightening the rear right nut of the wheel axle, I find that it affects the free rotation of the wheel. I am guessing I have to fiddle with the locknuts for the right bearing is that correct?

Thanks for your comments.

Re: Question for Ian

Hi Henri..If your bearings are incorrectly adjusted that could make the wheel tight...though they would have to be pretty 'over adjusted'...If after checking those you still have a problem, check that you have the hardened thrust washer that sits against the shoulder on one end of the hub sleeve (the tube that the bearings sit on)...It should be between the bearing inner and the shoulder, on the opposite end to the threaded part...If that is missing it does lead to the wheel going 'tight' as the wheel nuts are done up....Ian

Re: Question for Ian

Thanks. I may have forgotten that trust washer that sits behind the bearing.

Re: Question for Ian

No, I had not but the bearings were incorrect.

Re: Question for Ian

Sure enough Ian, found out that I was missing the 15-7047 Hub bearing sleeve thrust washer, that and new bearings solved the problem. Now it can be rolled around. What a mind bender though.

However, when it comes to computers, IPhones, IPads, no sweat there.
