The later WNGs have no steering damper control knob. They do have another piece of steel that sits on top. Does anyone have details so that I can make one? Have a picture but can't find link on message to post.

Yes, like that Ron. Nothing like a good clear close up to sort things out! I see now that the steering column is simply capped with a domed plug. Won't be hard to make.
