Correct rear mud guard and tail light for a '44 M20
What is the correct tail light for a '44 M20? I've been doing some research online and I can't seem to find a definitive answer. The one on my bike seems to be a more modern replacement light.
Does anyone have a good pic of a '44 tail section that's more or less "spec"?
Here's a link to my rear mud guard for reference:

Also, I noticed this chassis contract number plate underneath the number plate. Is this number helpful in identifying more about the bike itself? My frame number and engine number seem to not be original, so I'm wondering if there's anything to this that I can go on. It's my luck that it's pretty heavily rusted, but I think I can make out a few of the numbers. 233S 1048 34XX (from what I can see)

The trouble is, that in 44 it would have been fitted with the little two legged fag end lamp (as in the forum picture) which is not conducive to using a number plate. I find the best option is to fit a period number plate with a Lucas MT110 tail lamp (as fitted to early war M20's). Repros are cheap off ebay and come with a double filament bulb for a brake light.
