Timing cover

Hi all,
I recently purchased a timing cover off ebay it is what I am looking for a 1941 WM20 project. However it has a broken internal small oil feed pipe. I have a replacement off another later cover. Question is how do I remove the oil feed pipe from the timing cover? do they screw out or are they pressed into the casing?

Re: Timing cover

They are pressed in and usually peened over, I have replaced the one on my B33 and pulled it out quite easily once the peening was removed, a couple of centre pops soon held the new one in.

Re: Timing cover

Thanks i will give it ago.

Re: Timing cover

Since you say the quill shaft is already damaged, you can use a course-thread screw to give a purchase for pulling the remaining oil feed base from the cover. Also, It helps to heat the timing case cover to aid in removal, as well as installation of the replacement oil feed quill.
