Were all WD control levers painted or were some left in original brass? Also, do we know how the dynamo body was finished? Was it dull nickeled or something else?

Most fixings/levers/exhusts were dull plated at the factory. Cadmium/nickel/chrome. Some exceptions are a black parkerized finish. Painting everything was more to do with REME workshops.

Dynamo bodies were originally dull nickel plated...For cycle parts individual manufacturers employed different finishes on various parts at different times, so it rather depends on the make and year of the bike....Ian
