Re: What piston is this?

Someone's got to say it..."Francis Barnett"... Is it a deflector piston ?

Re: What piston is this?

Here's a picture:

Inside cast-in: Hepolite 613 (?) X WA (?) 1665 (?), difficult to read.
Anybody?

Re: What piston is this?

I looked through the Hepolite piston catalogue for motorcycles and I can't find the numbers in there, my catalogue covers up to 1963, but I do have a later car one that also has motorcycle pistons in it, but it's at work. Can you supply some dimensions?

Re: What piston is this?

Does it have to have some deep & significant meaning ?

Or could it have been made / measured / checked / packed by Fred Basset.

made by operator F on the B shift

been made on outside contract to Froud Beinginheimer .

Been part of consignment F of order B.

Made on June 2nd ?

Re: What piston is this?

The dimensions are those of a normal M20 piston, and it is slightly heavier, no problems there. But I'm just curious what those "FB" means! And unlike my current piston: it has no split skirt.
