Bsa R4

It seems my last post has been Hi -jacked so I,ll start afresh.
Can anyone tell me what plug I should be using, the one I removed was a Motocraft BF 32, 18mm.
Thanks in anticipation,

Vaughan.

Re: Bsa R4

Vaughan,

If I remember correctly the original plug would have been a Lodge H1. According to the website of the Green Spark Plug Company the modern equivalents are:
Champion D9
NGK AB7
Bosch M7AC

or another Lodge plug if you can find it: HN18P. Maybe you can cross reference tyour plug with any of the modern equivalents. I find however that NOS period plugs tend to last longer than th modern equivalents. But then again we don't do to many miles on our classics so it might not be that bad to have to change the plugs a little earlier than in the old days.

Re: Bsa R4

Thanks for the info Leon, I,d agree with you on the new old stock plugs, I,ve got some Lodge plugs that are working fine and have done so for years, but I,ve had poor results from modern plugs, especially NGK.

Just had a thought, can anyone recommend someone in the UK who can refurbish the original ammeter.
