Re: frame/engine numbers

Hi Hans Martin,

Your frame and engine numbers are the original combination from when it left the factory 29-01-1947 and it went to a dealer in Birmingham.

I can send you a scan of the factory ledger page if you want.

The carburettor is a 1940 model and I guess yours should have a 276C/1B. Basically they are same carburettors.

Re: frame/engine numbers

I have never had a carburettor repaired but there are people doing that and it seems they do a pretty good job. New carburettor are available but pretty expensive. I am sure other people on the forum can help you to find the right guy to restore your carburettor.

I'll send you a scan of that page.

Henk.

Re: frame/engine numbers

The main problem is when the body is worn. We have a guy here in UK who can re-bore your body and make an oversize slide. It usually only requires a thou or two in oversize. An average carb re-furb can be anything from about £80-£120. Or brand new Amal carb for about £300. Ron
