My BSA WM20 - 1940

Morning Guys,
Here are a few details and pictures of my motorcycle I bought not long ago. After searching for over 3 years I finally found one that needs little or no work, which at the moment for me is great. Over time I guess things will start to become clear of how everything works.
Total re build done by the last owner, everything works granted a few things need changing, saddle mounts, levers, copper fuel lines, battery case, exhaust etc but overall I'm very happy.
Frame - WM20 30248 (1940)
Engine - WM20 20576 (1940)

The bike left the BSA factory 28/12/1940 for the war office, London.
Within the 10,000 machines orded to replace the losses at Dunkirk.
Left the Army in 16.8.1962 "Storage, Bowhouse", last served with 923 Coy RASC TA (from key cards - thanks Henk)
Regards
Scott

Re: My BSA WM20 - 1940

Hi Scott,

I'm also a relatively recent WM20 convert having only bought my bike last August. Restored by a previous owner I'm slowly sorting out the 'not quite right' parts and having immense fun riding the bike here, there and everywhere. Constant grin guaranteed . If there is a downside the cost of some of the correct "WD" parts is eye watering.

Help from the guys on the forum is endless. Enjoy your new purchase.

Re: My BSA WM20 - 1940

Thanks guys, not perfect but she runs fine that's the main thing at the moment.
Will add correct WD parts in the future. May even ask on the forum if anyone can help with certain parts.

As you can see the exhaust is red in colour is this normal or it might be running a little to walm.?

The wife kindly donation our conservatory for the time being!

I would say that your front pipe is stainless? They do go that straw colour with heat. Ron

Scott,

Your bike looks great. You might want to add the outer primary chain case to your shopping list.
