Hi I have a 1942 BSA M20 and I am in need of the 7" Lucas headlight trim. People sell one's that say 7" on them like the one that I bought but actually measure around 7 1/2". I emailed a guy on eBay that had one listed at 7" but once I sent a question he said to that his measured around 7 1/2" O.D as well. He said his part book did not go back that far as to see what the model number was, if anyone can tell me the part number that would be great. I am looking for it in chrome
I think if you measure the glass of your headlamp it will be around 6 1/2". The model is known as a Lucas DU42 (6 1/2" headlamp). The post war rims that you see are for 7" headlamps but they will measure 7 1/2" on the outside. The sizes actually refer to the exposed glass lens. Hope it helps. Ron
