has any one used the silver cad spray paint on nuts/bolts ect. normally i just clean up as many original nuts and bolts as i can with a wire brush wheel and then re fit em, i dont think painting bolts silver looks that good and looks to tacky. i just thought id try this silver cad paint by eastwood, its meant to replicate cad plate. ive sprayed a couple of bolts for the G3L and to be honest it still seems as if your spraying with normal silver paint, there seems to be a slight metallic finish to it, the colour silver dont look that bad as cad.
i just wondered if any one has used this paint and what do they think of it?
barry
It's just paint Barry and won't perform in any way like Cadmium plating...even if it looks like it. The best plan is to clean up the parts and get them Cadmium plated with the real thing, or, replace them with blasted stainless steel fasteners which look the part..(and will outlast all of us)..Mail me off forum if you want the number for a platers that does Cadmium....Ian
