Hi all, Please could someone tell me when (what year) the small BSA on the timing cover on the M20/M21 changed to the larger winged BSA. I have recently aquired a '57 M21 with the small lettering and pictures of similar bikes mainly show the larger winged BSA. Thanks.
But they should have the breather fitted to the bottom of it as there isn't a breather in the crankcases. There also appears to be a small script cover with a breather fitted into it, just to confuse the issue!
Hi Mike, The 'winged' cover with larger font was introduced for 1948 and continued until production ended in '63. All 'winged' covers have the breather in the cover as opposed to the crankcase...Ian
