Hi, I am trying to fix the aluminium clutch case band on the G3L but the footrest makes it very difficult for me to fix this. In other word there is little or no space between the foortrest and the clutch case bottom. If I try to force then the alloy band is bending out of shape. Any tips or suggestions in this regard? I always have to take the left hand footrest off my AJS in order to get the band on as it does exactly what you are describing, but my Matchless seems to have just enough clearance to get the ally band past. Perhaps my AJS and your Matchless have a slightly bent footrest on that side?
