WM21 B engine number

One for the enlightened.
A club member has an M21 that he is about to start work on.
The engine number is simply WM21 B ( that is B for Bravo ) that,s all, no serial number.
I have assumed that it was a "spares replacement " military engine.
Any one got any ideas ?

Hi Trevor

The British army had very few M21s, would they have had replacement M21 engines to fit or would they have just fitted a standard M20 engine?

Could it be part of a spares package supplied to the Netherlands early in the war?

South Africa had WM21's, perhaps one came back with an ex-pat...

It would be interesting to see a photo of that number to see if its factory original.

ah!! trevor you bike is going to get worn out because you keep using it in the sunny weather here in the uk i am saving my bike i have only been out on a few time this year because of rain i have been out on it in the last few days though sunny cold and no sweating
