Very small picture! but looks like an ARIEL WN/G, cannot see any other markings than the allied star?

If you send the picture to me in higher resolution I can make out more probably.

An Ariel captured by U.S. re-enactors was my first thought...

It looks like 1st. Division signals..A diamond divided in half horizontally white over black. There's also what appears to be a '40' under the diamond and the allied star Lex mentioned...Ian
