This might interest a few people out there. Perhaps one of the most colourful characters Britain has produced in the last 100 years. He's just died aged 91, but I remember him vaguely (not personally) from when I was a kid. Here's an obituary. It will make you smile.

by the way guys, Its worth pointing out that even it may sound absurd Sealand is one of 3 (Out of 100s of micronations) that have a real claim to be independent nations due to historical anomalies that happened in their history. the other 2 are the Principality of Seborga and the Kingdom of Tavolara.

Funny to think that most people who have anything to do with Sealand have a title...I guess they don't have peasants...

well ian, i read sealand's history and fell in love with it especially since its connection to ww2 and because thanks to sealand, roughs tower became the best kept example of the maunsell forts.
noble titles from sealand are bought as a support to the micronation and with their cheap price tag, interesting backround and prestige (remember, sealand is quasi legitimate as an independent state)its almost quite easy to fall for one.....
