Hi can anyone please help with some details on a G3L. Frame number 24065, engine LAK 0578. There is a brass plate on the inside of the toolbox which states it was rebuilt in 6.53 , the vehicle reg being 70 YA 61. There is also a contract number on the brass plate 294/23/S4555- nis this all post war information ? Any help would be really appreciated Cheers Graeme
Hi Graeme, 70 YA 61 (Card 162a) had framenumber 24065 allright, and C number 943334.
But my Enigma Matchless C number calculator gives 943577 but I would trust the Key Cards more I think.
So from contract C9841 not S4555, toolbox must have been replaced at some time.
Postwar it served with HQ RE 54th Div/Dist TA
Bike was sold on 31-01-1962 from Ruddington.
Engine number I cannot make heads or tails of, picture needed.
