Want some more power in my BSA M22 fits camshafts from later goldstar or B33 if that would give more power.

Hi, did you know the 1939 onward cams aren't interchangeable with M22 cams?

If it is an original M22 your cams are not the same as a GS The timing cover is diferent because the cams has there own ax. And they fall out when you remove the timing cover .The M22 was made until 1939 with the old style under side.If it is a silver star M23 1939 or 40 then you can fit GS cams . Is it not fast enough your M22 Gr. Theo

Has an M22 engine, which I thought put in an M20 frame to drive in hill climbs

You can fit Gold Star cams as long as its the 1938 Gold Star, as I said earlier they changed from 39....

I have seen KM22 engine too - with new type cams

Early M23 cams wil fit as well and they have a hotter profile.

Kalle, did BSA make a KM22 ?
I though they used up the left over 1938 bikes (JM22 ) with early cam type & stamped a K infront to make KJM22

Yes, I thought same until I saw KM22 engine with later timing case. Maybe that old stock ran out later '39 and they stamped some M23 engines as M22?

Maybe if they had to supply replacement engine in late 39 they stamped it KM .... Maybe it's just one bike ? If so.. Nice & rare
