I looked at that and wondered. Has it been fitted in place of a Royal Enfield engine ? Those plates are big and square enough. If anyone wants the gearbox and if the Norton WD engine is numbered between W1000 and W6999 then I'd probably do a deal with them.
I don't think so Rik. The plates look too crude and square for an Enfield frame. I was thinking more likely a donkey/stationary engine? Ron

I think that you're right Ron, the Villiers carb that they're throwing in hints in that direction too. Why would you want a four-speed gearbox on a stationary engine ?
Maybe it was attached to wheels for towing a gang mower? Some of those fairways can be quite steep. Ron
