Looks like it was down on the left side and run over. May not have been under way.

Well I am also intrigued as to what happened there, i'd say not driven into something as front impact hard enough to do that much damage normally puts the wheel very out of round & bends the forks back under the bottom yolk.
As you say Jeff, more likely it was ether run over or my guess looking at that flattened exhaust down pipe & the corresponding fork & rim damage, it was hit on the right side at the front by a vehicles bumper at a crossroads where niether gave way .... That kind of thing.

But did the rider take off the Vokes filter in the accident, or was it removed prior to the occurence?
