Another D-Day veteran has passed away; Garth Webb died peacefully May 9; VE Day.
Garth was the initiator of the Juno Beach Centre, which was opened in 2003. He was an officer with the 14th Canadian Field Artillery, but had an affection for the Norton 16H. He had promised to write down some of his adventures on this bike, but unfortunately time had run out. May he rest in peace.
A few years ago Wal-Mart sponsored a book on Canadians at D-Day, I was reading it over the last few weeks and Garth's picture is in it. I'll scan and post it later tonight. I was wondering if he was still alive, I believe the caption said when he initially conceived the D-Day center, he hoped to see it built before he passed. Rest in Peace.
