reading the workshop manual the valve clearances are 0.003 inch inlet/exhaust cold for standard B31 it seem rather small for an air cooled engine as i am using fast road cams should they be 0.006 inch inlet/exaust like the goldstar clearances or larger still like the touring goldstar in the book they dont say hot or cold for goldstars clearance thanks roger

i dont believe its the valves baulking if you mean that there is to much lift on the the cams it want to go but just will not catch this time i am trying by swapping the cams around watch this space thanks roger
