What’s the best way to end up with an oil tight primary chain case on an M20/21. Both cases are straight and free from corrosion but I just wondered if anyone had any good tips such as double up the cork washers or one cork washer + RTV silicon etc
I don’t have an issue but I’ve just done some clutch work and I’m looking to end up with no oil on the floor.
I actually hard glued mine to the the outer chain-case. Whenever I remove the case I just smear grease on the other face of the gasket. Get all the screws started, nip them up, then just go round them a few times tightening them. There are so many screws and the gasket is quite thick, there is no point in doubling it. Ron
I just used silicon on both sides of all the cork bitsand it hasn't dripped a drop (yet):-) Any colour you fancy! Just make sure it is silicon and not one of the other sealants of which there are so many these days.
