I am back on the wm20 I have made two oil tank plates off the plans but found that I could not fit the oil tank on with out sloting holes .It seams the distance between the elongated holes and the single hole for the oil tank are too far apart. I would like to know if any one can check on an original plate, the width of the complete unit,
in the plans it is 5 1/4" = 133.35mm wide.
Then there is the inner hole lower right,
in the plans it is 1 3/8" = 34.925mm in from the out side edge
Michael, if there is a mistake on the drawing then I am the guilty party - I drew that up for someone years ago (from an original) and didn't get any feedback so I never re-visited it.
I will drag a plate out of the shed and double-check the dimensions for you.
Hello Michael. Here is an original plate.
I would agree with the width as 133.5mm
I would also agree that the hole centre is about 35mm. Let me know if you want any other measurements in Napoleonic. Ron
PS this plate can be bought for £20 if anyone needs it.
Michael, the issue isn't the R/H oil tank hole it is the two slotted ones on the left. the 11/32" measurement is to the EDGE of the slitted hole, not the centre.
My humble apologies - I can imagine what a pain in the butt cutting that out and finding it didn't fit would be.
Where are you in Australia? I am in Melbourne and would be happy to lend you an original to copy.
Henk, I don't have the original drawing as I lost it with a hard disk failure. If you can send me the file I can correct it for you.
