Dispatch rider patch

Was the dispatch rider patch worn on one sleeve or both?
Thanks!
One of the few, Frank USMC RET

Re: Dispatch rider patch

Hi Frank

Only on the one sleeve, Left I think.

The white over blue armband was worn on both though.

Re: Dispatch rider patch

Hi Frank...Yes, it's the left (mid) forearm..If you are looking for one (or the 'MC' badge)there are nice replicas at Divpatch.com in the UK...Ian

Re: Dispatch rider patch

Frank, Andrew Butler does a range of them, and is good with international posting etc.:

Look under "British" then "Qualifications"

But there were many more styles

Rob, not always, as I remember it?? there's some sort of priority system here.

Also normally the white was on top, but sometimes the blue?? cannot remember anymore.

Hi Lex,
I am looking for the one at the right bottom. Do you or anyone else knows where to get this one?
Thanks,

Re: Dispatch rider patch

Hi Sven..I think Divpatch.com do that one..it is the pre war style one which was used in the early period of the war I believe...Ian

Re: Dispatch rider patch

Cannot find it on the DIVpatch http://divpatch.com/ site, but it is on Butlers site, also the red/black DR, for Royal Marines is there, have not seen the Maroon/Blue Airborne one anywhere??

Was this ever used? or just made up, because Airborne sells better??

Cheers,

Lex

Re: Dispatch rider patch

Well, as I said before Butler has them, they might be more expensive then the other site, but they are the best (quality) in the trade!

This is a picture from their site:

If you mention my or (my ex) Monica's name, you might even get a discount!

Re: Dispatch rider patch

Sven, if you cut the edges, there's not much difference, and these badges were never officially adopted, so there were hundreds of small manufacturers, and variations, anything goes!!!

If I find a second original one, I'll keep it for you, maybe at Beltring.

Lex
