Hello, Can anyone please let me know when Matchless changed the headlamp clamps to the new design? The war time clamps were just 2 iron rods. I have the newer version on mine but not sure if they are correct.

Matchless went to the newer type headlamp brackets for the 1949 year models.

I just made mine from copper tubing. And no, they won't brake, mine have been on there for 8 years!

Hi Douglas..They won't rust either!..Pretty looking bike..those early Matchlessessess are definitely easy on the eye..Far nicer than the later 50s/60s models...Ian
