a heart warming story

I parked my WD BSA while I went in the shops a few days ago. When I came back to it an old guy was looking at it and wanted to talk about it. He told me that at home he had a despatch riders helmet that was in as new condition, and that I could have it if I wanted it. So today I went up his house to get it. It was as he said, almost new, and size 7 so it fits me ok.
In his garage he had a Harley Fat Boy which had belonged to his son who died seven years ago. He had kept the Harley and learned to ride it in memory of his son. The DR helmet had belonged to his son as well, but he was happy to pass that on to somebody who would appreciate it and use it.

I will be in Normandy from 3rd to 7th of June on my WD BSA, with a freind on a 1938 Norton ES2, so if any of you see us-talk.

Re: a heart warming story

Peter, as you say a very heart warming story. Pop in for a cup of tea at our site by the church in St Aubin. Cheers John
