Date of first registration + Mot exemption

Hi
Could someone advise, my V5's have first dates of registrations after 1960, no mention of date of manufacture?

Have dating certificates from BSA Club, do I need to be contacting DVLA ?

Any advice appreciated.
John B

Re: Date of first registration + Mot exemption

John, here is a V5C for an M20 showing a date of first registration as 1982. But at the bottom of the front cover it shows the date of manufacture (1942).
If yours don't have this information then I would do as you say and get dating letters and visit your local DVLA centre while you still can. Ron

Re: Date of first registration + Mot exemption

Hello Ron
Thanks for your advice and suggestions will contact DVLA.
I found the following GOV UK site.
https://www.taxdisc.direct.gov.uk/EvlPortalApp/app/enquiry?execution=e1s1

Use this site to check out your vehicle Reg and make, it also tells you the year of manufacture of your vehicle held at DVLA.

I have printed a copy of the page and put it with my documents.

I will still ring them to see if year of manufacture needs to be on V5

Thanks for your time and effort
John B

Re: Beware. DLVA have changed my M20's build date

Have just checked my own log book. The date of manufacture has been changed by the DVLA. The last log book read 1945. It now reads 1968.

I'll be setting them straight. Fortunately, I have a dating certificate from Roy Bacon.

Re: Beware. DLVA have changed my M20's build date - UPDATE

Actually, the last log book also read 1968, but an early log book that I've still got reads 1945. So this error crept in a few years back.
